The Volt Pulse LS is a decent choice for if you are wanting alternative transport, it has integrated features such as the lights and lock, offering you more security whilst riding and being able to leave it when you hop off for the shops or locking it up outside work. No matter the weather this is a great electric hybrid bike.

Overview Performance
The Volt Pulse LS is ideal for riders from 5’4” to 5’9”, if you are any taller you would find that the riding position wouldn’t be as comfortable and you are not as in control of the bike that you would like to be.
The integrated features are fantastic with the lights and locks, it makes the riding experience feel more secure as you don’t have to worry about people being able to notice you whilst you are riding potentially in the road or worry about leaving your bike in busy areas. The Volt comes with a digital fob which is a lot easier to carry around than a U-lock which is much heavier.
The LCD display shows the bike’s statistics and a trip button that you can see your overall riding time and distance. It is an easy to read display but perhaps doesn’t come with the simple features such as knowing what the time is.
The Pulse LS’ motor unfortunately doesn’t deliver with the motor, when the bike has no extra load it is slow to kick in and this is essential if you are commuting via roads so that you can get away from vehicles when at traffic lights, this is when you’ll find that you have to pedal more.
The 250W hub-based Bafan motor doesn’t give you an idea how of much assistance you get, the SpinTech claims it is up to 550% when climbing a hill, with this it can feel as though you’re not pedalling a lot before it kicks in and gets you up to speed of 15.5mph.
Motor, Battery & Range
The Panasonic battery is integrated into the downtube with a 250W hub-based Bafan motor, having two different brands is not unusual as it is a cheaper bike but is certainly something to consider when purchasing an e-bike.
The Volt Pulse LS has two battery choices, the 36V standard 400Wh or a 504Wh large, the latter giving you up to 70 miles range each charge, but this would depend on the areas you are riding and the weather. With the SpinTech drive system it has an Intelligence Controller that checks and adjusts to your riding style across the four-pedal assist levels. On the handlebars there is even a small thumb throttle that gives you an extra boost for when you need to manoeuvre out of traffic or to overtake others.
